Life in Los Angeles

All my stuff and I rolled into Los Angeles on August 24th. Unpacking finished earlier this week. So far, I’ve noticed several differences between this new city, and my previous, Seattle.
  1. The dairy products taste different, even if under the same names (Tillamook cheese is saltier, Knudsen’s Cottage Cheese is less watery, much creamier).

re cars, I think Daniel Werner (a fellow Seattle->LA transplant) summed it up in two words: "ostentatious wealth"

My favorite is when people ruin a perfectly good front lawn with 15 marble statues. I've only seen this in LA.

I've noticed a similar ruination/ornamentation with bodies. A perfectly nice old woman will dye her hair, tan herself dark, slather on makeup, and then take to the streets in clothes intended for teenagers.
