...the dreamers of the day are dangerous men [2259.198]

Another year in space.

It was easier to mark the passage of time like this, birthdays away from Joanna, than any other way. His daughter was getting a nice collection of intergalactic toys, he chuckled to himself. No one else in the neighborhood would have a cute little robotic dog and some stuffed tribbles, in lieu of a doll. Bones also picked ( Read more... )

Jim came back from the gym to find his doctor snoozing on the bed. He smiled, just a little, and snuck past him to go clean up in the shower. Getting rid of the sweat felt better, and he padded back across their room nude to pull out some clothing to be lazy in for the rest of the day.

He paused as he saw something across the room and walked over, picking up the picture. ...Joanna? Was that really her? He looked over at the framed collection of pictures they had on a bookshelf, at the tiny thing standing beside her daddy. Was this the latest photo? ...When had she gotten so... big?

He smiled and put the picture down. Was Bones thinking about her before he went to bed? Probably, and that's what made him a good dad even if he was away.

His eyes blinked a few times, that fuzzy half-awake feeling, before Bones realized he wasn't alone in the room. Eyes focusing in the dim light, he could make out Jim standing on the other side of the room without a stitch of clothes on, looking at something. It was a moment before he said anything, taking the time to appreciate the view he had of Jim's perfect ass, legs, back.

Stallion indeed, he thought, biting his lip to keep from laughing as his eyes roamed Jim's body. Was fucking unfair for someone to look like that, every muscle taut and firm. But, as long as someone had to have it, might as well be his- well, whatever the hell Jim was to him. His.

That was a good enough word. For now.

Maybe it was an old human instinct or one he had developed that told him someone was watching him. Jim hid his smile and could guess he woke Bones up. So he stretched out lazily, flexing every muscle in the process, then bent down and touched his toes. Felt good, after the warmth of the shower. He tucked a hand on his hip, fingers spreading across there and onto his ass, as he studied the bookshelf.

Fuck... there wasn't a doubt in Bones' mind that Jim wasn't doing this on purpose, standing there and preening like a fuckin' Greek statue, showing off. But that tiny, angry thought was pushed out by the much larger hunger and need that was threatening to take over his brain.

Parts of him that had been quiet and sleepy just a moment ago were now coming to life. Bones cupped his hardening cock, straightening it out to be more comfortable in his pants, though it still wasn't all that comfortable, so he slid out of bed and began walking toward Jim.

Standing behind him, Bones rested his hand on Jim's shoulder, slowly sliding it down to his wrist.

[ooc: ♥♥ This is a favorite quote of mine, and by rights is more Kirk than McCoy, but I thought I might be forgiven for borrowing a snippet.]
