"Happy Thanksgiving, Maxine," Jay smiles at her, then moves closer to speak conspiratorially with her. "I think I recognize that look... someone just tried to sneak a sample of one of the pies, didn't they?"
Maxine's eyes shift from side to side. "Maaaybe. I just wanted to, um, make sure that they weren't poisoned. Vandal Savage could be trying to kill us all off in a single stroke or something."
Hawkman finds a place to rest well away from the kitchens. Either he's finally learned his lesson, or else he's waiting for the proper opportunity to try and sneak his traditional turkey leg.
And sadly he can not escape the holiday spirit. Dinah came sweeping by and scooted him forward. "No hiding, come on I know if you muster up all that Hawk courage you can face dinner with the gang."
"Good to see you too." Nice to be able to hold a civil conversation with him and not standing between him an Ollie. Oh some Thanksgiving's had been interesting.
"Don't you know they eye the quiet ones the most?"
Carol tries to find the kitchen to offer her help, but she's sidetracked by smiles and greetings. Hal's invitation to dinner with the JSA and JLA was unexpected but welcome. Thanksgiving alone with the ring was probably not the best idea for all involved.
Kendra's late to the party. She'd left on time but had seen it her obligation to beat some sense into a couple of thugs that seemed to think that Thanksgiving meant that they could steal from the local soup kitchens...Kendra wrinkles her nose, disgusting, how cruel people could be.
Shaking her wings from the long flight, Kendra loosely grips the bottle of wine that she'd bought with her and enters the Brownstone.

Shifting the platter's weight, Maxine extends Carol a hand, smile still intact. "I'm Cylcone," she says, "But you can just call me Maxine."

"Uh... fine," he says, without entirely lying.
"How about you? I haven't seen much of you since Carter came back."
