Given that her primary function on the team was to act as a transporter, Zephyra was taking the time to check out the vehicles officially assigned to the team for transportation. And here came Cliff. As the field leader, at least some of this responsibility fell to him. Along with mountains of paperwork. Waller had said jack about paperwork. he was rather cross about it.

"How's it all lookin'?" he asked.

"Looks to me," says Vera, stepping in behind Cliff, "that we've got vehicles that are altogether subtle. But we lack any with real power."

She glances at the van. "I'm really hoping that thing can at least keep up with a police cruiser."

"Oh, the van and the truck are more powerful than they look," said Zephyra, patting the van. "The plane, unfortunately, is exactly as powerful as it looks, which is not very powerful, but I need to upgrade my piloting liscense to be able to pilot anything that's not for civilians."

She didn't have a mechanic's knowledge of cars and other vehicles, but she did know enough to not be taken advantage of, and to know what was possible and what wasn't. She also knew how to fix the basics. It was all part of working in transport.

"The van looks plain and ordinary, but both it and the truck are discreetly armored. The van's got a 500 horsepower engine, and the truck has 660. I'd be embarrassed if I had trouble keeping up with a police cruiser in that van - it should have no problems outrunning one. The truck...eh. It's big. It's meant for big cargo. If I had to pursue someone in it, I could, but navigating corners would be a pain ( ... )

"Just so long as I'm not in it, probably," Cliff said, of the van. "Something like that, I'll just slow you down." Being several hundred pounds of metal would do that do a guy.
