The battle had ended. Mary was returned to her old self. Black Adam was free from the thrall of Tala, as was Susan Dibny. The General had been returned to Eros 433, by the apparent return of Dr. Fate.

And as the battle calmed, the remaining heroes...along with Black Adam...found themselves in front of the Rock of Eternity...with the wizard ( Read more... )

"Tala had tapped into magical artifacts within the palace, along with her own powerful magicks, to bring the Rock of Eternity into Earth's plane of existance. She planned to set it down on Kahndaq and rule from there. A classic example of someone's reach overextending their grasps." He looked at Sue Dibny. "She started seeking revenge for what had happened to her paramour, Tannarak. Had she stayed with that...she would well have succeeded. But she got greedy."

Black Adam steps forward. "Under the circumstances...I...thank you for your your assistance in the liberation of Kahndaq from this unforeseen threat." He looks towards Billy. They barely agree on certain things, but there is a respect there. "And I am willing to trust that Shazam has dealt with the witch Tala. However, there are two of her minions on the battlefield below...the ones who were called Pestilence and Famine. They will be tried and punished by Kahndaqian law, as they willfully and brutally came into my country and have killed several hundred of my people by their actions."

He's used to seeing different people take the mantle. This person... is new to him.

Kent is busy casting his eyes across the assembled plateau of heroes. They're not seen much in his neck of the woods and he's generally regarded them as nothing more than publicity stunts. Both veteran and younger heroes go largely unrecognized, but that guy with the cape and red underwear-- him he recognizes.

"I need a drink..." he mutters, before noticing the attention he's garnered, "Excuse me?"
