President Ross has been insanely busy - so much so that he hasn't bothered with a tie yet this morning.
But he's heard the latest about Jefferson Pierce...and it's not good news. To that end, he's cleared his office and is waiting for a visit from an old friend.
It doesn't take long for an aide to show Superman in. And he's not alone.
"Mr. President." Clark says grimly. Despite how long he's known Pete, Clark knows this is all about business. "I know you had asked for me, but I thought it important Batman be in on this too."
Ross turns to the aide. "Shut the door. No one in or out until I give the word." Clark might realize that Pete isn't this edgy, even when he's official.
The doors shut, and Ross hands a folder to Batman. "This is the preliminary examination done by our medical staff. Jeff's in a coma as a result of massive internal and external burn damage. Indications were that they were electrical in nature. Given that being struck by lightning and surviving is rare, the public thinks that something did this to him. I'm inclined to agree."
He runs his hand through his hair. "What the public doesn't know is that Jeff's a meta who's power *IS* the control of lightning. So tell he how the hell do you electrocute Black Lightning?"
She was on the floor of the UN listening for the vote when an aide tapped her on the shoulder with the news. She made her way to an empty conference room and calls for a status report. First Jordan; now Jeff. This stinks of a hunt.
"I'm currently in the oval office with Batman and President Ross...and no one else...discussing the matter." Superman said. "We're going to be transporting Jeff to the Watchtower for observation and security purposes."

Ma had just set down the teatray on a nearby table in the JSA meeting room. Several sidetables were in various corners of the room, with the storied round meeting table beginning to fill in with the available members. At the moment, there were only a couple in the room.
She looks at the TV screen in the corner. "I guess I shouldn't be so surprised anymore at the depravity of some people." She says sadly, out loud, to whoever will listen.

Mr. Terrific has nothing to say for the moment. He sits at the main table, eyes intently fixed on the screen as Black Lightning's assault is discussed.

He doesn't say anything- instead he fixes the President with the typical scowl.
