Themyscira, it seems, has retreated from this realm. At least, that's what Hippolyta has been able to suss out thus far. One of the first things she's done, after having been resurrected, is to try to locate the island nation which she ruled over for so many years, only to be unable to actually find it ( Read more... )

A friend, is, indeed, there. Carter came to check in on the JSA, and see what and who was still standing after the tragedy. He'd spent ages in meditation at the aerie, preparing for what happened, so getting out, and back to the team, seemed a good idea.

The voice is one that she has not heard in a long while - mostly by virtue of being dead more than anything else. The erstwhile queen looks up to see a pair of giant wings flapping in the air, flanking a muscular, mostly bare-chested man wearing a mask that evokes the image of a hawk.

In spite of herself and the confusion she is feeling, she manages warm smile.

"Carter. It is, yes." She gives her friend what can only be called a proper Amazonian salute. "It is good to see a familiar face."

The door itself is reached for by the current chairman of the JSA, who is taking a break from coordinating the clean up for the brownstone itself. All those years as an engineer helped him know the basics of clean up and repair so this is something he can do that is certainly hands on.

And when the door opens, it looks like he sees a ghost.

"Lord Almighty...Hippolyta?"

"You didn't think she could stay dead forever, did you?" he asks, much quicker to deal with this sudden and fortunate change in status. Go figure.

He returns the salute in kind, then turns to the door. "And we'd best let her in, and have someone prepare a room for her... while we get some tea. There's a lot of ground to cover."
