Blackest Night: Watchtower Meeting

Feb 06, 2011 22:20

Martian Manhunter is familiar with the many workings of the Justice League Watchtower. Even with the dimmed lights to save power, he was comfortable walking through the halls. But the eeriness of the empty halls does not escape him, especially considering just what had happened to him just an hour previous. The emptiness worries J'onn.

Following behind J'onn, Terry uses his ring to provide a light for himself. He's worried about the emptiness as well, thinking there should be more people judging by what Kyle told him about the place.

He jumps slightly when J'onn speaks, speeding up to follow. "Don't worry about it. I'll come back later for a tour," he jokes as he speeds up as well. He lands and looks around as J'onn sends out his message.

"Okay...I'm getting a horror movie vibe about now..."

Sue pipes in. "Listening from the com station, J'onn. Someone has to log all this."

"Who's the new kid?"

"Star Sapphire. And I'm not a kid," Terry introduces himself. He glances down and notices he's in the combat-thong again and sighs. A little concentration and his costume changes to the purple-version of Kyle Rayner's original GL-costume again. "Don't know why this thing jeeps dressing me like a stripper..." he mutters about his ring.

"I've been up here for over 15 years. Almost everyone counts as a kid." a beat. "And there's a reason they call these outfits 'tights.'"

Hal's not answering the comm immediately. He's got Barry with him, and that's not something to announce like that. People need to see him for themselves.

He leads Barry and Carol into the Watchtower, then releases the green aura around Barry once they're safely inside. "People are going to be a little shocked to see you, Barry," Hal warns. "You've been gone a... long while."

"Oh, that's the way to understate it."

Barry looked at Carol and Hal and chuckled a little. His body still crackled with energy from time to time. It was invigorating. Barry was sore, scratched by the undead creatures that had attacked them, and still a little bewildered, but none of that mattered. He was just happy to be alive. He breathed a sigh of relief when his feet touched the deck of the Watchtower.

"I know there's a lot I've probably missed," he said, "But it's going to be alright."

Hal uses his ring to tap into the com systems for the Watchtower.

"Hey, guys, Hal here. I've got some news."

Within a few moments, the remaining Black Lanterns have retreated, and the heroes have a few moments to catch their breath.

Hal turns towards the stranger with the Indigo-colored ring. She's technically invaded the Watchtower, but since she just helped them defeat these Black Lanterns, he'll give her a pass for the moment.

"Okay, let's start from the beginning. Who are you?"

Repairing his costume with a thought, Terry turns to listen to Indigo-1 as well. He quirks a brow at the mention converting others and gives Carol a questioning look. There's still a lot he doesn't know about being a Star Sapphire.

"Zombies are attacking all the different colored lanterns and here," he summarizes for the younger Flash. "And this is bad," he adds.
