Ouside, Batwoman looks over at "Batgirl," making a "come here" gesture with one hand.

"Try again. Keep your arm down -- you're opening yourself to a counterattack when you attack. Not much good reaching for a punch if someone gets you in the kidneys before you land the hit. And there's always someone faster. Ready?"

That's when the scream cuts through the night. "She's shooting everyone! Stop her!"

Before "Batgirl" can react, Batwoman is already gone, leaping onto her glider and heading in the direction of the scream.

Truth be told, Charlotte was rethinking the Batgirl title. Being trained by Batwoman was rewarding...she was learning a lot, and it was nice to know that there was a superhero who believed she could do this.

As soon as Batwoman hopped onto her glider, she followed, vanishing in a burst of pink light and appearing on a rooftop a bit ahead of the other woman.

"Maybe I could be your sidekick," she said, pausing to bounce again to keep up. "I could be Sparrow. You know, like Robin, only as your sidekick."

"Maybe," Batwoman replies. "But maybe not 'Sparrow'. We'll discuss this after we stop the shooter."

She flies down, flying through the doors of the department store from which everyone seems to be fleeing.

And that's when she sees the shooter...

Okay, either she stopped her shooting a while ago, or people are panicking (not unreasonable with clowns in this city). Still... best to take her down fast.

She doesn't give a warning. She merely leaps off her glider in front of Harley and throws a mop into the wheels of the cart Harley's riding.

That ought to get her attention.

The cart flipped with Harley in it, sending her into the ducky display. Most people would be hurt at being tossed from it, but she was hugging a ducky. It was apparent now the gun everyone was freaking out about was a scanner gun.

"Oh, lookattheducky!" she squeaked and then started talking to the ducky, "See what happens when Mommy tries to go shopping in this town? It's just insane."
