Arkillo pushes past the weaker Green Lanterns. He has someplace to go, and all the worthwhile Lanterns are far from here, fighting the front assault the others are dealing with ( Read more... )

Voz doesn't reply. He merely sends a cylinder rocketing towards Arkillo, hoping to knock the beast flat. Simultaneously, he creates a maze of lasers through the Sciencell hall, preventing Arkillo from moving freely.

He caught the cylinder in his face. It didn't knock him down, but it did force him back.

He laughed as he tasted his own blood.

He was going to enjoy this.

He picked up the cylinder and using it as a battering ram of sorts, pushed his way through the laser maze, gunning straight for Voz.

A gruff: "I wouldn't be laughing," was the response Arkillo got.

The cylinder was one of his own constructs. It changed in Arkillo's hand and formed into a wall, as one of the walls behind him, started to slam into him, sandwiching Arkillo between them.

But Arkillo did not come alone.

He is a Green Lantern. A guard. One of the most trusted of Green Lanterns by the Oans.

Scarecrow has never been one for flashy blasts of energy or anything of the sort. Instead... he has learned new tricks with this ring. More subtle... and more devastating.

He creates an airborne toxin which he sends Voz's direction. A toxin intended to cause a powerful hallucination.

One by one, every sciencell door opens within Voz's mind. One by one, every prisoner escapes... and Voz can do nothing but watch.

And for each one, he is branded a failure. For each one, the Oans strike at his honor, stripping another piece of it...

::Lantern Gardner::

"Talk to me, ring," Guy snapped, vectoring for the biggest explosion of yellow he saw on the surface of Oa, near the central battery. If someone was attacking there, that's where Jordan would be, and he wasn't about to let Hal get himself killed. Not today, not any day. Not on Guy's watch.

::Multiple breaches recorded in the Sciencells. Lantern Voz is down, lifesigns are weak.::

"Aw, hell. I'm on it. Tight beam broadcast to Killowog, ring, with a beacon for assist. If the 'cells are opening, I could probably use the best Lantern up here who isn't me to cover my back."

Guy bore down with his will, the air in front of him solidifying into a shield, spiked in front. He wasn't going to be catching some sort of yellow harpoon shot by some backwards-ass space crawler Sinestro gave a ring. Not without something in the path to break the killshot, even a little.

Scarecrow hasn't taken to using his ring for blasts or constructs. Instead, he takes a more subtle approach.

Even while Guy builds up physical barriers, Crane sends out telepathic tendrils... like bits of straw worming their way into his brain.

What are you afraid of, little Lantern?

::Breach:: is the only warning Guy gets as the yellow tendrils penetrate his aura. He stops dead in his path, eyes narrowing to slits to focus his will, push past the fear, like he's seen Jordan do.

There's a reason Jordan's the best, and Guy is, no matter how much he'd like to believe, not. Jordan could do this in his sleep, not even crack a good sweat. Guy, on the other hand, has never been half the creative thinker Kyle is, nor the rock-solid hero Jordan is. What Guy is is a gunslinger, a force of nature with a green ring.

Guy doesn't think. He wrecks stuff.

The hand bearing his ring points at the ground, a huge green jackhammer coming out of it, and ratcheting to high speed, hammering the ground. Let's see the yellows try any funny stuff with an area the size of Michigan doing the samba under their feet.

Scarecrow goes flying from the attack, landing in a heap. He's still learning some of the more physical capabilities of the ring, and defending himself has never been as interesting to him as understanding his opponent.

He starts to get to his feet, concentrating on digging deeper into Guy's mind.

His fear... what is that fear that Crane can make come to life?

She has come prepared to battle.

Her golden lasso hangs on her hip, and she bears a specially forged sword and a specially forged shield. Gifts from Hephaestus to be used in the field, whether it be a literal one or a metaphorical one. After all, Diana - Princess of Themyscira - has fought many a battle in mid-air, and more often than not, the fabled Amazon has come out the victor.

Today, she is not so sure of her victory.

As the very ground quakes beneath his metal feet, the steely monster takes flight. He is slightly more labored than he would be normally, probably with only half the power Superman has.

But his strength is not similarly lacking. He is eager to stretch out his mechanical muscles after such a long time spent rusting, but he doesn't let that alter his tactics.

Hank unleashes powerful red beams from his eyes at the flying woman.

"Amazon! Flee while you can."

Diana transfers the shield to her other hand and deflects the eyebeams with a silver vambrace. She glares coldly at the metallic warrior, her gaze as cold as Hephaestus' best steel. "An Amazon never flees from the site of a battle." And with that she rushes Hank Henshaw.

He gives her everything he has for a moment, before the red death rays get dialed down a bit. Just enough for him to gather his strength for this incoming brunette missile. Though Hank Henshaw is not a particular fan of hand to hand combat, he is not averse to it, either. There is more strength in his fists than in hers...

So he lets her draw near, and swipes viciously with jagged metal claws. His heat vision finally ceases.

Kilowog phases through the wall.

"What do you poozers think you're doing?!"

Green energy ripples over him, enhancing his strength and power.

Arkillo was about ready to cry, he was so happy.

"At last, a worthy opponent!" And Crane and his fear gas nowhere around to spoil it.

He charged straight for Wog, yellow energy bleeding off of him.

Charging poozer? Meet fist. Enhanced by Bolovaxian strength of will.

A pleasure. Especially since, at the same time, said Bolovaxian got to meet Arkillo's fist. Which was enhanced by being attached to one big scary muthafucker.
