Earthquake and Record Breaking Heat

There was an earthquake this morning. It happened while I was in the shower and scared the shit out of me; not so much for the earthquake itself, but the realization that there could be aftershocks, but there weren't any. One of the shampoo bottles on the lip of the tub fell down and I saw the shower curtain rail shaking back and forth. It was like ( Read more... )

We had a 7.1 earthquake when we lived near San Francisco. That was 18 years ago and I still get nervous sometimes. The windows will rattle a bit because a big truck is driving by, and I'll immediately think it's an earthquake.

q>We had record breaking heat today, and I really mean record breaking. It's up in the 100s and earlier this afternoon I heard it hit the triple digits here. That's just incredible. For as long as I've been here, I don't think it has ever hit triple digits

Are you on fire ban watch.

What do like about these computer games? What sort of games are they? I assume that rail tycoon you are managing a railroad :) Until recently I had a several year old computer that probably would not have suppported good games. now I have a newer one. Do you have reccommendations of good computer games. games that require too much hand-eye coordination are not good for me

The games I like the most are adventure games. There's usually no action involved, you just go around solving puzzles, collecting items and talk to characters. So, games like these are used for telling stories rather than involving a lot of action. I also have problems with hand eye coordination which is why I like these games because they don't rely so much on that.

My favorite adventure game is Grim Fandango. It's older (most of the games I play are)but it's really good. I think it's the best game I've ever played.
Here's a link to a review of it http://www.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/grimfandango/review.html
