Javier Bardem is Roland

Javier Bardem has signed on to star in movie and TV versions of Stephen King's smash hit Dark Tower books, according to reports.

The Spanish-born Oscar winner will play the role of Roland Deschain in Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's adaptation of the seven-novel series.

I mean it's not that I don't like Bardem but I still can't see Roland in him:( I agree with the popular opinion saying "we need a younger Eastwood for Roland!"

I adore Javier, he's one of my fav actors but as you say, I can't see Roland in him. IDK IDK

I just hope they make a beter casting decision for Eddie...

Wow. What's with all the Javier hate? The guy can act, I've seen it. Also, you do know Hollywood has awesome special effects people, yeah?

This is like saying that Elijah Wood shouldn't play a hobbit because he's too tall.

Hmm..

I'll reserve judgement on the choice of the actor.. but I did love him in 'No Country for Old Men'.. but I have never really like any of Kings adaptations to screen... there is something always lost in translation from book to the screen.. something our imagination makes up for when reading...

But I will admit.. that I will probably watch it just to see how it pans out.
