Self-Discipline?

I started reading books about saving money, but backed up because I think that most of my problems involve a lack of self-discipline. So I started reading books about self-discipline. I've found setting tasks in small, highly specific chunks works best for me -- the thought of starting a huge task is far too off putting. For example, instead of a task like 'clear the garage' I aim to 'empty two boxes'.
