Christmas Day

I woke up every hour from about 3 AM on. Got up at 6:30. Tried to go back to sleep because it wasn't light yet, but to no avail. Mimi had a nice time lying on me.

I'm looking for my old phone. So far, I haven't found it. I need to get some phone numbers off of it, plus I need it to get Gmail set up on my new phone. Hmm. I've pretty well torn the ( Read more... )

you'd have to be prepared for midnight and 3 am outdoor runs to the bathroom, and any other time they need to go. Dogs are a lot of work and they aren't cheap. Think long and hard before you get one.

wait until you're retired then. You're too busy with work, classes, music and voice lessons, language lessons and catching up on your sleep from that. It wouldn't be fair to the dog. They aren't independent like cats.

All of which I do at home, so there would be no separation anxiety. Zara is independent, but Mimi is not. I call her my "dogcat" because she has some dog-like qualities. I lie down for a nap as much to cuddle with Mimi as to nap.

Getting two dogs might be better though.

Both doggies are adorable. You'll have a nice fenced-in yard for a dog to run and play.

When we bought our first house people said "So next you'll have kids?" and the answer was "No, next we'll have a dog."
