Fuck. I'm having problems falling asleep, and I need to drive tomorrow. I forgot to take my meds, which was one problem. Then You took them and was starting to nod off when a guy pulled into the parking lot blasting his stereo. Not the hotel's fault, but still, last night was do not recommend.

So sorry about that perfect storm of bad luck. Hope Mom and the car are both okay. If she keeps having these bathroom emergencies, she can risk dehydration, so I hope whatever intestinal issues she has are clearing up.

You're lucky you could find a DD bathroom. When I am doing my long-distance driving on weekends, I used to have a few reliable DD spots where I could stop for a bathroom and grab a cheap snack as payment. When the pandemic hit, they started blocking off the bathrooms. In the early days of the pandemic, that made sense, but some of these stores have permanently blocked off their bathrooms with "out of order" signs. I guess it keeps them from having to clean a bathroom or having people pass through only to use the bathroom and buy nothing or just a $2 bottle of water.
