I looked for a place to hang out in Reno when I take my California Zephyr trip because the train gets in at 8:30 AM, and my dad won't be able to get there that early. I found a restaurant with great breakfasts that's an Uber drive away. It sounds like a plan. And someone online said that the best time to take the Zephyr is in mid to late September

The California Zephyr trip sounds wonderful. So does the breakfast place.

I'm sorry to hear of your mother's continuing health woes. I know what you mean about not wanting to feel that it's a bummer to talk to her. It's not just your mother that is affected by what she's dealing with - you are affected in a big way, too.

Yeah, I want to help, but she doesn't want me to come out right now. So I don't know what to say.

I'm sorry your mother is still not doing well. Low platelets are pretty common with people who have had chemo. Hopefully they can get her a transfusion or something to resolve that.

She has multiple myeloma, which affects her platelets.
