Talked to Mom. She's getting a transfusion today and one tomorrow, and then she'll be discharged. Her doctor wants to see her right away though. She's antsy to get out.

I found some free German courses online. I want to hear the language more.

I don't know if you can get access to that via a US IP address, but we have two public TV stations here, ARD (first) and ZDF (second channel). They both have a mediathek in which you can watch all the recent documentaries, talkshows, movies, series and whatnot.

If that works (maybe you have to use a different website to access it), you could hear all the German you ever want and it may be more entertaining than a youtube channel ;-)

Well, ARD is going to keep you busy no problem. There is a long-running crime series called "Tatort" (crime scene) which has been enjoyed by generations of viewers already. It is filmed by several teams all over Germany. Some are sinister, some outright depressing, some are just funny (like when they come from Münster). You get a bit of local dialect, too. Not with the main characters - they always speak Hochdeutsch - but with the sidekicks.
