My predictions?

None of the myriad petitions to save SG-1 will actually succeed. Fans will be forced to accept that maybe a run of TEN YEARS isn't actually the same as being cheated out of an opportunity to redeem one's not-so-hot ratings.

With SG-1 gone, Eureka will be the newest edition to SciFi Friday. Once the network wises up to the fact that ( Read more... )

Eureka will get shifted to 8PM, BSG will stay at 10, and Atlantis will thus be bookended at 9

But...isn't DW S2 premiering on Sci-Fi Friday at 9PM at the end of September? :)

DW S2 is filling in the gap of SciFi Friday for when the Stargates go on their mid-season hiatus in a few weeks, and to give the network something else to be showing alongside BSG (which starts up early October). ;)

Actually, it's even longer: six whole months, as Scifi's running the entire season of BSG completely on its own. They're kind of insane over there.

those "handful" female viewers like myself who aren't necessarily dazzled by Teyla's boobs in quite the same way as the writers.

Aw, I don't think the writers are all that dazzled by Teyla (or her boobs). She's been nothing but wallpaper for quite some time now - this season being the icing on the cake.

This grates me because, from the little I've seen of her, she's a good leader, a good fighter, polite (none of that girls-are-catty bs!), intelligent, well spoken and pretty much the only Pegasus local voice in the team. (Ronon is not what I'd call a man of words.)

I'd like more Teyla! Obviously, my love of Sam TRUMPS ALL (*), but why not develop the quite decent female character they already have?

(*) and SGA writers (I'm basing this entirely on GUP) seem to write Sam so well! I don't care if she was in Rodney's head! They remembered that Sam has a sense of humor! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERED THAT! I cried! Joyful tears splashing all around.

This is what my first reaction to the cancaling of SG-1 was. Cause who are you to bitch that ten years isnt't enough. Do you know what Scapers would have given for tens years hell for five or six? For me SG-1 was on it's way out this season and it''s time. I don't need or want another soap in my life. And if this show went on that's what it would become.
