'the ability to grow old together is one trump card humanity yet holds over their more highly evolved counterparts.' Oh, so bitter a moment. Do we side with Mystique's longing for humanity with Erik as he comment so casually "Aren't you glad that's not you?". I rather think it's not the ageing or lack thereof that is the problem, merely the desire for true companionship throughout her lifespan that troubles her. Very nicely told.

That's exactly what I was trying to convey! Thanks so much for reading and saying such nice things about my drabble. :)

I liked this a lot. :)

It's really interesting how differently Mystique and Erik see things.

I'm so happy you like! I think Mystique's long lifespan would bring her an interesting perspective as she watches those closest to her age and approach the end of their lives. It's sad to think about. :(

Oh, ouch. Mysttique, finally grasping an aspect of humanity that Erik will never see.

Beautiful.

But really too far gone down her path to turn around. :( She strikes me as such a sad character. Thank you for your lovely comments.

No, they have a huge disconnect since he's so obsessed with being better than humans. Really pleased this made you feel for Raven; she's really striking me as such a tragic character lately.
