The Pretty is Shorn.... chatchien May 24 2013, 17:48:01 UTC

I thought that Michelle Rodriguez is FINISHED with ACTING!

Oh, I see that she is taking up directing. ::Eye Roll::

I recently stumbled on Blue Crush on TV. I liked Miss Rodriguez in it, I never followed Lost or her DUIs on that show. But I was amazed by Kate Bosworth. She looked great and was very convincing as an athlete in that movie. Now she is just some dull faded version of a Mid-Level Model and clothes horse. The Kate Bosworth of Blue Crush could have played Jordan, the Golfer, in The Great Gatsby. Now, she can only play fragile weak women whom no one is interested in watching on screen. Interesting career turn. Miss Rodriguez still commands in her career. It might not be the biggest but she is a strong woman and plays them on screen.

This is The End sounds like Part II of Pineapple Express that was written by Seth Rogen too. Mr. Rogen seems to be limited in his writing interests, but I enjoyed the movie ( ... )

Will her directorial eye be as varied as her "acting"? Michelle "One Note" Rodriguez as a director is something I would like to see.

I don't know if it was coincidental or what but almost all the cast that had DUIs while shooting were written off (Daniel Dae Kim being the exception) so thank goodness for drinking and driving because her Ana Lucia was worthless.

Now she is just some dull faded version of a Mid-Level Model and clothes horse. When she's giving strong material she steps it up like "Blue Crush" or "Wonderland" but, yeah she's just someone who shows up on "What Are They Wearing" lists and seems dull as dishwater. And her Lois Lane was so terrible in "Superman Returns" that I often forget that Lois Lane was even in the movie. Writing this out now I ( ... )

But now that I think of the book, Daisy is a sort of Enigma. She is not a real person, she is always some one else's concept or perception of her. So playing the character must be difficult, particularly if as you say, even Miss Mulligan has problems with it. Jordan comes off as much more interesting than Daisy even in the book.

I think all the women in the film are much more interesting than Daisy only because you have an idea of twho they are (though they are still almost afterthoughts). LIke you say Daisy is a sort of an enigma and she's definitely presented as a contruct of Gatsby's vision of her or her husbands. She seems to be whoever she's with in the moment. Gatsby is holding onto this vision of the Daisy he knew and overlooks the reality of her now.

What Delilah did this to you?

I blame magic. Magic was always Clark's undoing.

Mr. Welling is traveling the country, first Austin and now Cleveland with the Indians, and then Las Vegas? His life is just one Long Road trip these days.I have a feeling his agent finally woke ( ... )

What big difference a smile makes! Anyway, I am happy to learn that Tom is working (and must have been working behind the scenes for a while), not just cruising bars and hitting on skanky girls. And, well, I miss his lush hair (though not the scruffy look from the last pic). ;) Hope you won´t run out of pics for your "I leave you with"! :)

Definitely!

That's work too, LOL!

So do I. I hope he finds out that he loves keeping busy and just keeps at it and in the public eye.

Tom always looks like a lost fawn on the red carpet - just want to take his hand and lead him to safety.

He seems to be making smart career decisions. (Hope the next one is regrowing those luscious curls!)

I don't even like the book The Great Gatsby so the movie would be a trial!

I don't want him to turn into something who goes to the opening of an envelope, always on the scene but baby needs to get innoculated. He should get more comfortable being out there. Of course I say this cos I want to see pictures of him all the time.

Me too. We get it, you're good looking with a buzz cut as long as curls, but it'll be nice to the locks back.

I've never even read the book. I was worried that I would think it was tedious, but I enjoyed the film.
