Movie Talk, Fandom Lurker..

~Happy Belated Birthday to two fabulous ladies chrisluvstommy and prim_rose_etta! I hope your birthdays were glorious.

~I don’t read a lot of fanfic anymore. I was devouring Eames/Arthur “Inception” fic for awhile and now I’m slowing down on it. I wasn’t really looking for a new fandom but somehow, DC gal that I am has begun reading “X-Men: First Class” Erik/Xavier fic.

So much fun to read this and see all these gorgeous pics assembled. Your discussion of the Fox situation really made me want to slap Shia - I guess in the world of Hollywood, it's too much to expect some common courtesy between a director and his lowly cast.

I think the best thing about Green Lantern is that screening ticket!

Danke :)

The disparity is crazy. Michael Bay whinged about Steven Speilberg on his blog when he was editing the first "Transformers" and when it went viral he took it down, but that didn't cause a blip. Shia criticized Bay and Spielberg (for Transformers 2 and Indiana Jones: Crystal Skull) and nothing happened, yet this woman is criticized left and right by crew members who felt slighted (she didn't say hi to them every day. She didn't talk to someone's daughter allegedly) and fired because she didn't like how she was being treated. Instead of examining their perceptions of how a woman should act or how actors should be treated they act as if she was the lone problem.

I think the best thing about Green Lantern is that screening ticket!

Your posts always make me so happy. Especially when they're full of Shia and Chris Evans. Those Rob, Emilio, Tom Cruise pics come at a perfect time, too, because I'm just finishin up Rob's book.

Thank you. That makes me happy.

Especially when they're full of Shia and Chris Evans.

Shia is working my nerves right now but I believe in him and he'll get there. He'll get that maturity he needs to be an ally.

In a recent interview Chris said that he's losing his hair as if I could care less. That body! And he has a sparkling personality.

Those Rob, Emilio, Tom Cruise pics come at a perfect time, too, because I'm just finishin up Rob's book.

How was it? I'm sure he touched on that sex scandal that now seems so tame.

I found the book to be really engaging (I actually got it for my Mom for mother's day and ended up reading it before she did), I laughed out loud several times and darned if I didn't even cry at the end.

He touched very lightly on the sex scandal, but I found it interesting that the club he'd met the girls at wouldn't let him in without his ID (he had to go back to the hotel to get it) so he never even suspected they were underage and at different point mentioned how he was so enthralled with new found video camera technology he was recording anything that seemed interesting at the time. He also said the same thing you did, that had this tape come out after Colin's or so many of the others that it would have been way less of a news story and way less of a controversy.

Thanks for the Happy B-Day, M'Dear!

Glad to hear your film run-downs. The previews of Grn Lntrn had me thinking that guy looks like a green ant -- not buff nor tall enough and the striations on the outfit's chest make him look like a cadaver.

I personally can't stand Shia LaB -- I saw him in Indiana Jones xx and not for one minute liked his acting. IMO he's a star bcz Spielberg identified with him as the matinee hero he never could be then put Hollywood on a platter for him.

Yeah I agree about Tom Cruise bringing an action film -- he even jazzed up Austin Powers III's opening so wonderfully!

Well, lates, Babe!

Hope it was an excellent one and you were treated like a queen!

It made him look like a dissecated worm from "The Faculty".

Oh everyone was awful in that film. That film was a tragedy. It was abysmal. He's much better in other things.

IMO he's a star bcz Spielberg identified with him as the matinee hero he never could be then put Hollywood on a platter for him.

That sound absolutely right. I can see that being the case. That's why Spielberg loves him so much.

Yeah I agree about Tom Cruise bringing an action film -- he even jazzed up Austin Powers III's opening so wonderfully! He's really good. A nutter, but he's really good. I still love his performance in "Magnolia" and "Tropic ( ... )

Aniston was the weakest link i think (ok i know)

Thank you for your consistent tommy btw:D

Didn't the title tell you want to expect? Jason Bateman is so good; the projects he picks are not.

Aniston was the weakest link i think (ok i know)

She's deadweight. I never watched "Friends" so maybe she was really as great as eveyone said she was in that, but everything I've seen her in she's been leadened.

Thank you for your consistent tommy btw:D

As long as there are still pics of his pretty self on the interwebs, I must post!
