We have a joint account too, for things like: mortgage, big household purchases, vacations we would take together, etc... We each still keep our own separate accounts as well. It just makes it easier overall. Glad you will still be able to have insurance though! That's important.
This is basically the comment I was going to leave. :-) We put money in for mortgage, utilities, and an allowance for joint entertainment, and it covers gas on joint road trips and so forth as well. Glad to hear you're covered! When I got on M's insurance it was a load off my mind as well. I didn't feel like I *needed* more than major medical coverage, but danged if I could figure out how to buy that on my own.

This is great! And this is what we do as well....as everyone else has said...it makes the joint stuff MUCH easier! Very happy to know you still have insurance.....that is VERY important! :-)
