Yep. I'm really glad I have a show I can be this excited about. Hasn't happened since BtVS. I love a lot of TV shows, but I'm rarely this enthusiastic about one.
As a fellow blue-eyed person, it's the lighting. My eyes go from gray to bright blue to green all depending on the quality and color of the lighting. In Elena's bedroom at night, the light is more golden due to the standard light bulb lamp look. In sunlight, colors are their true tone, for the most part, so eyes are at their most brilliant.
And then, there's individual TV translation. Color settings differ by brand and model and tones can all be a little different.
I agree, great ep. Figured one as old as Elijah wouldn't be stopped by just a piece of wood. And he knows where the moonstone and Katherine are. Dun-dun-dun. I admit I almost felt teary when Damon was. Rose, the lady vamp, ought to be familiar from season 3 of SPN. :) Steven R. McQueen was born July 13, 1988, so at least he's legal! (Same year as my little brother, which = kid.)
Hmm, my whole family has various shades of blue eyes, but I've never really noticed a difference in the color with lights. Sometimes, but oldest daughter's eyes get bluer after a good cry, or when she wears certain shades of blue. But I guess the camera lens/filters might be a good explanation.
Yeah, I knew Elijah wasn't a goner.
And I did recognize Rose from season 3 of SPN. Loved her on SPN.
Oh my. McQueen is legal, but 16 years my junior. But man does he have some of his Grandpa's it factor!
"That scene towards the end... with Elena and Damon in her bedroom... Perfection."
Yes, that was beautiful and oh so bittersweet and delicate! And their silent "Thank you. - You're welcome." moment before that... Wow, the expressions on Damon's face! Ian Somerhalder might have some mannerisms, but here his performance couldn't have been more perfect!
"Did anyone else notice the Supernatural-ness"
LOL! That was impossible to miss! No matter what Damon thinks about roadtrip bonding (That was one great line! ;) ), I really loved to see them talk honestly and openly. And it all even lead to Stefan's apology in the end. That was huge for them!

I noticed that as well, odd. And now all the boys will have to posse up to protect Elena. And hopefully that means more Alaric.
It really is such a joy to watch, isn't it?
