One question - would this be to watch on your computer or to pop into a DVD player so you can watch it on your TV? We have open source software that will convert the AVI files we downloaded into a format so you can pop the disk into a DVD player, but it takes much longer to burn because it has to convert the file first, etc. We hook Jon's Archos up to the TV and play AVI files directly from the Archos, but we've used the software to convert a movie that would only play on a computer into DVD-player format and popped it into the playstation (we don't have a dvd player), and it worked fine.
