Having you for a friend brings me joy. My kids, my family, my health, my house, my fandom connections, my sweetie Chris, even my job since having it means I can afford to travel a bit and go to a con or three. *g* I'm sure there's more but overall, I'm a happy person.
Knowing you makes me happy, too, sweetling. And oh, cons--they're a joy all by themselves. I would have put in a picture of a con, but I always worry that someone will not want their picture on the net, and I didn't have any of just me by the blue Torino!
What a lovely post! I have a hard time with "happy" just now, but there are things: my friends, good runs, my dogs (most of the time), writing, the good parts of fandom, my favorite shows, England. I wish I could say my mother. I love her, but it is very difficult.
Anyway, I love your things! Thank goodness everything was fine with your surgery. And those stairs are fabulous!
Those times when happiness is the hardest to find is the best time to go looking for it.
I so understand about your emotions about your mother. My father was not the man he had once been the last years of his life. Thank goodness I didn't have to care for him anywhere near full time, just occasionally to give my mom and his caretaker a rest.
Ah, to be in England! I hope you found the potatoes you needed. I thought of you the other day because my friend made me zucchini pancakes--and I had a hankering for floddies.
My friends list is a great comfort -- it's so nice being able to log onto LJ and feel as if we've all met in person and are the best of friends in real life as well as on the internet!

I'm grateful for my family and friends, and all the little things that make me smile.

Yes, isn't it wonderful to know there are folks out across world who 'get' us, even a little bit. Who I don't have to explain what fanfiction is.
