Those who have said you were daydreaming, are right.  Through listening to the presentation team after my daughter’s AD(H)D evaluation, I have come to understand that ADD brains are often functionally asleep-their brain ( Read more... )

Interesting, yes! (Thanks for the link and the book recommendations!) And not really surprising. :) That's one of the reasons that it's great to work with the brain as much as possible, so you're not "blocking out distractions" but instead helping the brain to "focus in on" the task at hand. Spoke with the hubby about getting the recording out. He's still working on it, but there are possibly some issues with his having used a proprietary piece of equipment to produce the audio. He wants to make sure that whatever he puts out is actually HIS (so no one can sue him/us), and also that the company that makes that equipment doesn't swipe the whole idea. :)

p.s. existentially speaking, A.D.D. holds some messages ..."everything is awesome/nothing is awesome" ,,,, everything is essential/ everything is useless".
from a maybe buddhist meditator perspective, everyone has A.D.D...! what else is new?
A:nothing.
B: everything
C: all of the above

Yes!

And agreed, school as we conceive of it is not well suited to the ADDers. Frustrating, but true. :)

Thanks! Most of the time, I feel I do pretty well. She's really an amazing kid. I'm super lucky to have her.
