Pushing us into self-destruction…
As the summer comes to an end, Dave has to admit that it didn’t go as well as he had hoped. The plan had been that he would stop thinking about Hummel and other faggy things. The plan had been that he would hook up with as many girls as possible at summer parties and try to sort of jump-start his failed heterosexuality. The plan had been that by the time he got back to school and had to face Hummel again, he’d be as straight as raw spaghetti.
But, well, things don’t always go according to plan.
Instead of forgetting about Hummel, he still found a way to work the kid into every fantasy and wet dream he had for three months. Instead of pushing him out of his head, he’d spent far more time than he cared to admit wondering what Fancy was doing with his summer and trying not to think about whether he had ever managed to hook up with Hudson. Instead of learning to love hot girl-on-girl action, he’d found himself surfing the internet’s vast catalogues of what he came to learn was called twink porn.
At parties, he forced himself to make out with any girl who would have him. But the one time he’d been able to bring himself to try to take things further, his body and his mind couldn’t cooperate. Thankfully he’d been able to convince the girl, a particularly stupid blonde Cheerio, that his dick was allergic to her uniform and all the skin that had touched it. He’d never have admitted, to her or anyone else, that when he saw that uniform he could only imagine Hummel in it. Or that he’d left not because he couldn’t get hard, but because the thought of Hummel in that cheerleading skirt made him too hard, too fast.
So on the first day back, when he spots the homo talking to Jewfro, he gets Azimio’s attention and they double-team him with a pair of cherry slushies. And he pushes down that sickly familiar urge to clean up the homo’s face with his tongue, and decides that maybe he should lay off the slushies from now on, at least when it comes to Hummel.
So the shoving escalates. But that’s not much better. Because every time he touches Hummel the feelings get stronger, deeper, more desperate. And every time he knows that Hummel’s looking at him, thinking about him, and he shouldn’t want that but he does, wants it more than he can stand. Hummel’s the one who first put these thoughts in his head, right? Homo clearly likes him in some way, at least, or else he wouldn’t have done that. So give him a taste of his own medicine. Let him look at Dave, feel Dave’s touch, think about him all the time. It’s only fair, after all.
Most of the time he just takes it, lets it roll right off. Once he yells back, and Dave can’t have that, so he threatens him with the Fury. Fancy clearly thinks that’s a stupid name for his fist, but Dave thinks it’s pretty damn appropriate. He’s still not sure he could go through with it…much as he’d like to mess up the homo’s face and maybe, hopefully, break Hummel’s spell over him. But Hummel clearly thinks he’s serious, and that’s good enough for him, and he storms away with a smirk on his face. Maybe he can beat this yet.
Then one day later that week, he pushes him again while he’s looking all dreamy-eyed at his phone, and he doesn’t even notice Dave walking straight up towards him from the front. On impulse he turns around after, briefly savoring the gorgeous sight of Fancy with his back up against the lockers, breathing heavily and looking straight at him, and oh god that’s too much, he has to get out of here. Only one place he can go, one place he’ll be safe.
Hummel yells and he walks faster, turning into the locker room and heading straight for his own locker, and breathing a sigh of relief as he gets there.
But behind him, he hears a bang as the locker room door bursts open.
