Wow, what a day. Really glad it sounds like it's going to end better. That apathy thing is familiar and it sucks.
Hooray for you being positive though, despite the Bermuda disappointment and the rotten/irritating/frustrating day and difficult week. I very much doubt anyone would see you as a negative person, so no worries there.
Oh and Happy Birthday, Meryth! *Mirien raises his glass*
I really try not to be negative. But on days like today, I feel entitled to a little light griping behind the LJ cut. ;)
On apathy ... it is strange, I will have ten things to do and sit for ten minutes, just staring at the computer and doing nothing.
I have trouble sometimes working on my stories not because I don't want to work on my stories but because I don't want to reach for my purse and get my USB key and plug it in.
It's so odd ... I wonder if it is seasonal for me. Keeping a journal has been good in that regard: I see patterns emerging between how I felt this year and last year. Two years aren't a lot to compare, but it's kind of interesting nonetheless.
eeeep well at least it all turned out ok. I know the issues of leaving the pup in the car, ours decided to eat hubby's center console in the truck when he stepped out for a moment to put the gas nozzle in the truck. She also got a hold of one seat belt clasp. >_< But she's been much better since she turned a year... no more shoes disappearing with teeth marks... though a sock still mysteriously disappears from time to time and mostly just has doggy snot and slobber from rubbing her face in it to get our scent (no holes thank goodness). I love fuzzy little puppies, and I bet Alex has that oooooh so cute face too that makes everyone scream "LOOK AT THAT CUTIE PIE!!!" :D
Alex is actually really good in the car, thankfully. I remember reading an article about "the hidden costs of pets" that described a woman who picked up her new Yorkie puppy, left it in the car for fifteen minutes to buy food and other supplies, and came out to $600 worth of damage to the interior of her car. Yikes!
Alex, being a retriever, loves to grab shoes and socks (and underwear and bras :^P), but he rarely chews them. Still, I try to discourage it. I actually got really lucky, and when he was a baby, I discovered that he hates being sprayed in the face with water. We have a spray bottle code-named the Tomato Sandwich; Alex catches sight of it, drops whatever he has, and runs. This has been really effective in curbing him of the urge to "retrieve" Daddy's socks and Mommy's unmentionables! :^D
And yes ... people love Alex. I'm sure with a Yellow Lab puppy, you know how it goes! :^D It kind of annoys me (okay, really annoys me) when people just run up to him, while I'm trying to get him to behave, and start saying, "Oh, I don't
( ... )
HAHAHHA that's classic, another reason I'm glad I have a girl puppy. Although a dog did pee on me at the dog park once... the poor lady was just horrified it happened. The puppy jumping is indeed somewhat cute to people until the pup gets to be 50 lbs! :D
Water spraying didn't seem to work for us heh but now it seems when she retrieves things it is simply to show us to hand it over but she promptly drops anything now when she hears the tone and the command of drop it, but that doesnt always work for toys haha.
I know the bra thing very well... lost at least one and had the underwear stolen. hehe I'll have to tell hubby though about the yorkie, he'll feel better I think with the minimal amount we had. ^_^
Aww, sorry to hear about the passports--back when I was 16 and my family was planning on going to Tokyo for our summer trip, they took forever to get our passports to us, and we ended up not getting them on time. It sucked in the moment, but we probably had a better time as a result (going to San Diego with the family, then just Mom and me to Tokyo at the end of summer), truth be told. :) Still... *kicks them for not delivering on time and hugs you*
*hugs back* So I'm not alone in this ... the State Department has been asshats before. (Why does this not surprise me? :^D)
We're planning to go end of May/early June. So it will suck in three weeks, sitting in work instead of on a pink-sand beach ... but by the end of May, I'll be glad that we waited!
That sucks to the extreme about the passport thing. >:F *bites the idiots responsible for delay* But I hope this weekend helps get rid of your exhaustion and apathy-ness- the Rocky Run supper should definitely help, though. ;D And Alex sounds so adorable! *wistful sigh*
Hey, Meryth's birthday is in March! Woo! ^^ Happy Birthday to a fellow March b-day celebrator!
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! ^O^ *pets teh darling puppy* Oh, he is so cute here! *cuddles* Did he have fun playing in the snow? (Looks like it!)
(Ze twenty-fourth. *crosses out Friday determinedly on calendar* Only three more weeks to go...) Oh! A request? Um...*flusteration* I is confuzzled. (Which is funny, since this year I'm writing up a wishlist for the gifting benefit of my immediate family- dropping hints about new socks and headphones is getting ridiculously harder! ><)
Oh, and I friended Meryth ^^;; I wanted to for the longest time, but was kind of shy about it. But sharing a birthday month is an incentive as anything! *sheepish grin*

Thanks, Juno. At least I've got an excellent novel to keep me busy this weekend. ;)
And Meryth thanks you! (His actual birthday is the 8th, which I picked because it's also my sister-in-law's birthday and so I wouldn't forget. :^P)

The good thing is that we will be able to reschedule for late spring/early summer. And come the end of May, I will be glad that we waited.

My handler also says to tell you: "I am too lazy to log off Meryth and log back on as me. But I will think of something to write for the 24th."
