Three Days of Drabble-Type Things

Dec 09, 2006 21:26

Because I've been so busy, I haven't been able to post my gift drabbles on time, even though in some cases their written and waiting. There just aren't enough hours in the day. But here are the past two days' worth as well as today's.

oloriel asked for Feanorians and also admitted to a recent fascination with Maedhros’s captivity in Angband. For me, this ( Read more... )

I like them all, but I like the first and third better. Though one question: is the black bar an actual word, or did you get to sneak in a theoretical 501st word? ;)

It's funny because, the first one takes exactly the opposite view as my universe (except for the part about others not really understanding why the Feanorions did what they did).

And I am woefully behind on The Tapestries, and I am not sure when I will be able to catch up. But I just figured that I would tell you that my lack-of-meaningless-and-shallow-comments was not due to any sort of abandoning of said story. (And everytime I have a stretch of time where I might read a chapter or so, I always need something totally un-serious, hence why I sit on my ass and go insane, or color, or bother you and Alina with the SSPoD.)

The bar counts as a word. On Pit of Voles and HASA, because neither site will accomodate that character, it is substituted for the word "secret." Which has less of an impact, I think.

So what is the Tarionverse view on Nelyo's captivity?

And no worries about "The Tapestries." It's a busy time of year, and I don't expect anyone to read it. If they want to and do, lovely! If not, no harm done. :)

Aha. Well, I wouldn't technically put it past you to sneak in any extra "real" word...Not that I'm saying you'd cheat...or anything...0;P

So what is the Tarionverse view on Nelyo's captivity?

Completely secret. *straight face*

It's a busy time of year, and I don't expect anyone to read it.

That's silly. ;) Well, now I am DONE with the majority of my FINALS, I can maybe catch up tomorrow and Thursday. :)

*squee* Fanfic!

I liked the first one best, dark though it is. My own version runs rather contrary to yours (in mine, it was Maglor who was ultimately responsible for the decision not to rescue Nelyo) and none of the brothers were psychic, but, well... (I really should finish my story someday. :P)

The one with Nerdanel was nice too, in its own way, though I imagine that Finwë would have been more upset than Mahtan, and Indis more exasperated than either of them. No idea why.

Actually, I think that Maglor made the decision as well. What I'd hoped to convey here was that people believed (incorrectly) that it was Caranthir who'd tipped the decision in favor of abandoning his brother. Presumably, the twins wished to save him, the other 2Cs did not, and Caranthir's "vote" swayed Maglor to making his choice.

This isn't true, of course; just what Fingolfin's people believe.

In Felakverse, Finwe is way more pissed than Mahtan about their marriage too, but of course, that's not a concern for Nerdanel right now so much as telling her own family. She'll leave the inlaws to Feanor. ;) Also, they go to see Finwe second since Nerdanel's family is more or less on the way to Tirion. (Have I thought about this way too much? :^P)

I wanted to ask you: In the icon that you made of the Magnificent Seven, would you be able to point me to the full artwork for Macalaure? 8^)

... this is going to sound creepy, but that made my day. It's not exactly been a good one, and having a drabble series written for me definitely did a lot to lighten my mood...
And it's a wonderful series, despite the dark topic.

I really like the idea of Carnistir knowing of what happens to Nelyo. (I've been entertaining it for a while, which is really the fault of that one AMC chapter >_>) Poor guy, not an easy confidence to bear...
The plot bunny is biting again now, though, and I have no time for it... ah, the dilemma!

And the other drabbles are lovely, too. (Though I like the one for me best, heh!) The idea of Mahtan being less than delighted with his daughter's secret marriage (if we assume that it was secret indeed) is really interesting. Poor guy, having his daughter stolen away all unsuspected! I can quite imagine that he'd be a bit grumpy, and, of course, worried about all the formal aspects...

And awwww, ickle Maglor!

Again, thank you so much!

You're very welcome! I'm glad that you liked it/them! :)

I always feel a bit odd giving dark stories as gifts. Last year, I gave my SWG co-mod Uli a story about Celegorm's death for Christmas. Alas, I am a horror writer, so I think it would be impossible for me to write thirty-one happy drabble series. :^P The idea of osanwe!Carnistir and captive!Nelyo has intrigued me for years; this is my first time writing it because I want to leave the full thing for when the AMC series gets there. Which will probably take years. *sigh* So this was a nice taste for me. :)

Actually, this was probably the idea that spoke the loudest to me. It was tempting to write it first, but I saved it for a day when I wasn't too inspired to think up new ideas. So thanks for the inspiration! :)

Please don't be sorry! I was going to eventually post a list of all the drabbles I'd written since it was such a busy time of the year, and I know that many people can't keep up with online stuff and missed their drabbles. I say "eventually" because they're not all finished yet...*ducks sheepishly* I still have five left to write!

I'm glad that you liked it, though and don't worry...it won't be the first story written just for you. :) I will eventually get to the "prize" story you requested when you won the pun contest for AMC so long ago. Ever notice how much I use that word "eventually"? :^D

And your icon is hott really nice. *ahem* >:^]

*hugs back*
