*Suspicious look* Have you been reading my mind? I just finished a fic that also touches on this idea! :P

Poor Fingolfin - I *do* like him and I feel sorry for him. No matter how hard he tried he was always the second son!

BTW... tears in his ears? Did you mean eyes?

No. Of course not. *looks guilty and mutters about damned osanwe*

I'll suffice to say that great minds think alike!

No matter how hard he tried he was always the second son!

And the obvious second favorite, although I do wonder where poor Finarfin ranks? You never hear about that guy. I guess he just figured he couldn't compete. *huggles poor, neglected Finarfin*

BTW... tears in his ears? Did you mean eyes?

Yes, actually! Thanks for noticing; I fixed it. *blushes* I have a bit of a thing for ears, so we'll chalk it up to a Freudian slip. ;)

Ah, lovely, Dawn! I have a bit of a thing for Fingolfin too! I loved the emotion in this drabble. Nice one. Really, really nice.

My hands clench upon the arms of the chair; my teeth worry my lip until it bleeds.

Awww! I just want to throw my arms around the poor guy!

Thanks! I feel bad for Fingolfin because I can only imagine the pain of knowing that he 1) came from a controversial marriage that many probably thought should never have been and 2) no matter what he did, he was cold in Feanor's shadow. And it doesn't seem like Finwe even tried to make his preference a secret.

I didn't like him at first because Feanor had me convinced he was a Bad Guy and deserved all that he got, but I don't believe that so much now. Like Feanor, he was put in a tough position from the start; he did his best, I guess.

Feanor is glaring at me now. ;)

Poor kid. I can't remember ever not liking him.

Really? Lucky you. I had a long spell where I was Under the Influence of Feanor, which meant that Fingolfin was Teh Evil. I would have blamed him for a lot of things that--looking at things from his perspective--were not so much his fault as a result of his situation. A lot like Feanor.

Nonetheless, Feanor is not happy that I've grown to like him. :^/

Well, there certainly was a spell where I would have been like "Um, one of those F- ones yeah?" I don't even remember when I began liking the Sil or when certain characters (erm, well Houses) became my favorite.

No, I imagine Feans isn't happy...

And "those F-ones" count for, what, 50% of the book? ;)

I remember those days, literally stopping to flip to the names index, asking, "Who the hell is Feanor??" o.O

these are not tears in my eyes; my fingernails are not rending the flesh of my own palms; it is not bitterness accounting for the pounding of my invidious heart.

You know, the picture you paint in this drabble sums up the feelings Fingolfin seems to have towards Feanor in AMC perfectly on point.

Lovely, really (though this somehow seems to be the wrong word for this... I've only been using "wonderful" already in your birthday story for allie_meril and didn't want to do so again...).

*giggles* I know the feeling. I tend to review stories using the same words: "Lovely!" "Wonderful!" "Intriguing!" Methinks I need a thesaurus. ;)

But thank you! It was AMC!Fingolfin who "wrote" the drabble, so that you noticed makes me smile. :)

Well, I don't know if it's osanwe or not, but as I saw the word, I told myself... this is sooo Fingolfin material. Of course, it is better written and more expressive than anything I could come up with, from Nolofinwe's POV, so... I am going to try and see things from Feany's perspective. I promise to catch up on all the drabbles and write some myself. I just got home now, after a few hectic days and I am going through my f-list as we speak.

Don't feel pressured to catch up. I miss days at a time sometimes and the DotD is my idea! :)

It'd be interesting to see a Feanor drabble for this word from his PoV, about Finwe's relationship with Fingolfin. Kinda makes me think of an SWG challenge we had a while back.... ;)

And don't say that it is better than anything you could come up with. I didn't even like this one. It's all a matter of perspective. I'm sure your Nolo could surprise us all. :)
