As a newbie to Numb3rs and the David Sinclair love, I thought it might be fun to start an "Everything you want to know about David Sinclair" thread. I looked in the memories and couldn't find a profile for him so I thought I'd start one

Off the top of my head: he sucks at chess, loves the Beatles, enjoys arcade games (Frogger and Pacman come to mind).

Truthfully, we don't have a whole lot of facts about him. Until Season 4/5, there wasn't much character development for anyone but Charlie and Don. Season 4 and 5 has really allowed the other characters to come into their own... hopefully we'll learn even more in Season 6.

We also know that David obviously has ambition since he applied for (and received) a promotion to be Don's second in command. He's the straight shooter on the team, doesn't play bad cop/good cop.

Our friends at numb3rs_news go through all the posts that are made to Numb3rs communities in a day and a good subject line makes the job they do a lot easier

The fandom really needs more David love. I'm not sure why he seems to be underrepresented in fic and fanart. Of course, I'm just as guilty - although I've been writing more David/Liz. *swoons*

I'm hoping this challenge will spread some of the David love. \o/

Has David ever said he lives in Venice? I don't remember this part... but then again, I'm usually too busy drooling over Colby. *guilty face*

Yeah, that's why I'm asking, I don't remember where this comes from. I saw it on Redhawke and I think it says so on Wikipedia, but that doesn't mean it's correct. I prefer taking a quote directly from an episode to make sure it's really canon.

David's father died when he was 15??? I thought that's Colby's fact. (or I could be wrong and both of them shared that fact ;P)

That red jeep he drove on Janus List is his, right??? That's the only thing I can remember right now other that what's already mentioned. *grins*

I wasn't sure that David's father died when he was 15 or he just LEFT when David was 15...

It was mentioned in Episode 4.14 Checkmate I think... *needs to check on that*

I'm pretty sure he said "died", because I remember it was the opposite of what happened to Bishop's dad (who just left). But I'll check tonight as well!

I thought that someone had left and someone died but I couldn't remember which was which. I remember the fandom being like "oh, pu-lease" because something happened to David's dad when David was 15 just the same as Colby's dad dying when Colby was 15...

I'm curious now.

Don tells David "You don't even drink coffee." in 3.16 Contenders shortly after David blows up at his friend Ben in the interrogation room.

I'm not sure they stuck with this fact considering that in 5.04 Jack of All Trades I think Colby brings David coffee when he comes to relieve him of following that one girl around looking for her boyfriend. He also seemed to have a coffee cup several occasions in season 5. *shrugs* But it was mentioned at one point that David didn't drink it. :)

Holy crap, how do you remember these little details? Haha. I think I used to be good at that sort of thing, but not any more, apparently. I was literally sitting here after I asked the coffee question, trying to think of a David fact I could tack on to add to the discussion, and all I got was, like, "He's... a very determined worker? Um."

WELL. That's not true, I also remember that he doesn't like his sister's (ex?) husband! And I remember which episode that's from, I think (1x11). \o/

haha. Well, there is something about Season 3 - those are the episodes I remember more than the rest.

But you remembered one I'd forgotten - the thing about him not liking his sister's ex. I'd forgotten all about that until you said it. That's a good one!

I am currently trying to go through all the episodes and remember/find scenes because I'm wanting to go on a video making tear but I can't remember most of Season 5. I don't supposed I can blame that on old age yet, can I? LOL.

Nothing to add at the mo, but I just wanted to say that I love this thread, and it came at just the right time! Last night I was thinking about writing a fic, and I was like, hmm, I'll have to go back through my notes and see what I know about David. *g*
