i tried to surrender my family's guns to the police to be destroyed, but since i live in the middle of rightwing usa, they refused and gave me an NRA-like spiel. so, i ended up giving them to a co-worker who collects guns, and i have to hope he will keep his promise not to use them to kill humans or animals. it's not about freedom, or i should have the freedom to safely dispose of my guns if i choose. they would rather i keep and handle them, even though i don't have a clue about how to do so safely, than provide the means to responsibly render them harmless.
Honestly? I'm worried about the formation of his own personal "protection squad". Just yahoo's running around in military gear doing his biding or what they assume is his bidding. All over the country. But, you know, thoughts & prayers.
