Another dull and potentially wet day. At least it is milder now and all that snow has remained up north, especially in Scotland

I love Herbert von Karajan. I have his complete Beethoven symphonies on LP and won't give those up for anything!

I have his complete Beethoven symphonies in a DG box set. It is those he recorded in the eighties.

Let me think ... I introduced DH to Beethoven with that set of nine symphonies when we met at grad school in 1976-77 - probably in 1977. So my Karajan Beethoven set must be no younger than 1977. and probably is 5-8 years younger.

Whatever the age, they are fantastic! He had such a feel for Beethoven, and the orchestral interpretation of the music is spectacular in all aspects. As a former cellist, I'm picky about my orchestras - LOL.
