Before I started reading the Wire magazine in the early nineties my relationship with such printed output was haphazardly irregular. In the seventies, it would have been Blues & Soul mainly, then later on in the eighties NME or Sounds, or Q or sometimes BBC Music magazine. Mojo was the first British music magazine I ever read, and I loved it dearly, even sending a letter in and getting it published at one point. The same bookstores that carried Mojo occasionally carried Q, so I bought that, albeit less regularly. To learn that they are pinched by pandemic isn't a surprise, but it's sad news
