In the middle of giving the buckle another tug of a test, Alexander turned his head toward the knock and the call of his name, and grinned when he saw who it was.

"Bruce! You have very fortuitous timing; look!" He held up the fruits of his labor proudly. "I've just put the finishing touches on it a little earlier, and I've been testing the durability a bit. What do you think?"

"Thank you," said Alexander, unable to keep a pleased smile off his face. The whole concept of being complimented for a job well done was still strange, foreign, and delightful territory. "And, look, I took the liberty to add a little loop on each side as well, see, where one might keep a weapon or two, if they felt so inclined."

"What poor cow?" asked Alexander, before realizing that Maladicta must have been referring to the scraps of leather he was still in the process of cleaning up, and he could only laugh. "Oh! This. Well, technically, I didn't do anything to the cow; the tanner who made the coat did."

Way to make it sound horribly...girly, Maladicta.

Alexander cleared his throat. "I have a lot of experience with mending," he said, feeling that this was only marginally better. "I was helping put together a belt with pouches for a friend. Terribly useful things to know how to make, pouches."
