I've always looked at helping friends move like contributing to a large communal pot of karma, so that when you have to move, there will be someone to help you. Not necessarily the same people you helped move, but someone.

And the pizza and beer or soda is mandatory. :-)

Without you guys and my brother who is toatally gunning for the *best brother of all time award* since he VOLUNTEERED to stay with me this week and finish up the painting & packing and moving that I was not organized to do with you guys on Saturday, I'd be gibberring in the last stall of the bathroom on the cool cool tile by now.

They only got pizza when they chose too... - Fresh Choice & Pasta Pomodoro.
A lot of beer was purchased and consumed :-)

One of the many problems with having a bad back and bad knees is that I can't build up moving karma, though at times I can help by taking care of the children during a move.
