I have received delightful news: My groundbreaking video, The World's Most Terrifying Penises: The Echidna is now YouTube's #1 search result for the word "Echidna". You cannot know how this delights me, to know that when someone searches that site for information on this repugnant little animal, my cockpunching video, and the horrific mysteries ( Read more... )

Wow.
To think the first information people will get on echidnas is this... it's mind-blowing.

On a side note, this is how I found your wonderful blog. I don't know how, but I happened upon one of the most terrifying penises videos, and my first thought was "Oh hell yes! I think I've found someone I must subscribe to!" and I must say I was somewhat disappointed at the lack of videos on your channel. I'm so glad I had the presence of mind to wander over here.

The tricky thing is, my standards for my creations are really unreasonably high, and my aim is often absurd. I have a big, big video project on the back burner right now, slotted back behind about three other projects of non-video varieties. It will come, sooner or later, but it requires a collaboration with a number of other people who are proving to be unreliable. If my standards were lower, I would simply decide to do it alone, but that could never satisfy me, in terms of what I actually want to produce, you dig ( ... )

Done.
For your edification and amusement, I've been following you via RSS.

I also hadn't thought of the information-gathering aspect of this, so thanks for giving me a resource for when my Google-fu fails me.

And don't take it as too much of a criticism that you don't have more videos. I was disappointed at the time, but then I wandered over here and that made me all happy again. And I can pretty much guarantee that even if whatever you create isn't up to your standards, it will far surpass mine and be wonderfully entertaining.

Now I clearly need to go in search of a picture.

I suggest this picture:

It's very pleasant. Fine craftsmanship, fit to stand the test of time. You could do a lot worse for a userpic.

Personally, I really loved your bit on the bed bug. Being an amateur fan of all things heteroptera, I thought it was spot on. Most terrifying breeding habits, ever.

So, due to the fact that I am also a fan of hedgehogs, I must now investigate this echidna issue.

Just as long as you're aware of the fact that echidnas are only cosmetically similar to hedgehogs; they're actually no more closely related to hedgehogs than they are to whales, or horses, or us. It's more or less completely coincidental that they've ended up looking like hedgehogs.

right. they're marsupials, correct?

Nope!

They're monotremes. They're even more-distantly related to the rest of the mammals of the world than marsupials are. They're practically reptiles; they lay eggs and such. They're way, way off in the corner of the mammalian family tree.

Watch the video. Much of it is explained there.
