"Yeah," he agreed, "But hey, you're here now. And we've got time until the next fight, so we can hang out for a while. Unless you had other big plans that didn't involve me, of course."

He flashed her a grin, thinking rather egotistically that there was no possible way. There'd been a time he'd thought that if Rose weren't in the way they might've had something. It didn't occur to him much that she wasn't here now. Or not yet, anyways.

"The hunting's not bad," he offered, "And people around here are a riot. Other than that, there's not a whole lot. Mostly I bug Edward for fun."

Never mind that he'd been pestered back lately. But he wasn't letting it bug him.

"But really, what's not to miss?" he asked her, "I think I'm pretty missable."

He was turning it into a joke, but he knew it wasn't really. But they'd had some pretty intense moments before, and he wondered if this was going to be another one.

"A few days anyways," he agreed, "Maybe a week. Time moves funny here. But yeah, I can show you around."

Not that there was a whole lot to see; business district, beach, forest, mountains, dorms. That was about it. But he could play tour guide for a while.

"I missed the big one," he muttered, still slightly put out, "Mostly it's been a lot of going and finding stuff and tactics rather than fighting. But we have had a few Riverfellians slip over here. I helped take one down the other day."

Of course, it had been just one, but she'd been feisty.

"Edward helped," he added lightly.

"In a word?" he asked, "Yes. He's just as bad as ever. I swear he watches Bella sleep and counts her breaths or something. Once he sent me to the lounge to help out some girl because he was too busy with it or something."

He opted not to mention the bit about bacon. That was far more embarrassing than he cared to admit to.

"Yeah, well, apparently they dig it so whatever," he replied, shrugging, "I just stay out of the way mostly, and pester Wardo every chance I get. It only enrages him further, as he would say."

He grinned, clearly proud of his actions.

Bethany laughed. "Some things never change, eh?" she asked. Vampires or not, they were still brothers for all intensive purposes. It was quite amusing when you got Emmett around Edward, mostly because of how frequently he owned Edward without the 'proper' vampire realizing it.

"Nope," he agreed, "Edward keeps being anal retentive and I keep shutting him down. You know he locked himself in his room for a week once? I wanted to strangle someone if I had to listen to his crappy music any longer."

Seriously. Since when was whininess music?

"Death Cab," he countered, "Lots and lots of Death Cab. I think even I know all the words to I Will Follow You Into The Dark now. He's played it enough, that's for sure."

He flashed a grin, though.

"I just switch the CDs in his Volvo when he's not looking," he supplied, "Or, well, I did back in Forks. He doesn't have it here."
