His eyes were black already, his power close to the surface ... and he could hear the thunder, the hooves, the feet.
Chase stared at the oncoming rush of people, both invaders and the residents that were emerging from the dorms, from wherever they'd been, running across from town.
Ice strode from the town hall, her hair bound behind her, blades drawn. She offered a nod to Chase before she stanced behind him, where she reasoned the edge of the shield would eventually be.
There, she watched and waited for the others to emerge, and join them.

Upon reaching Chase and Ice, it dropped to the ground, taking on Nathaniel's form as it did.
"Did I miss anything?" Bartimaeus asked evenly, flicking a glance toward the oncoming rush.
* 'Sound' didn't fully encompass how annoying Bartimaeus found the noise to be, but he had no time to be more skillful in his descriptions.

Severus winced and pinched the bridge of his nose when the stones started going off. Could they have picked a more annoying sound to warn everyone with? He dearly hoped that they would turn off soon, though he imagined that they wouldn't.
Surprised to discover that he had inadvertently guessed the location the attack would come from, he pulled his wand out of his sleeve and prepared to attack, one eye ready to keep track of Lily's location.

She was shaking a little, trembling, and her eyes sought out Severus' taller form, and she made her way over toward him.
He'd meant to tell her about James. He really had, but before he'd gotten a chance, the stones had started beeping, and they were leaving, and it was awkward to yell after her that James was around.
She'd find out soon enough, he reasoned, and winced.
Once out the door, Cedric cast his eyes around for Silvara, and once he spotted her, he moved toward her.
Chase didn't think they'd have much more time before he'd have to put up his shield, so he turned slightly to yell so most of them would hear. "Stay behind me! Stay behind the shield!"

Pressing a last kiss to Bella's hair for now, Edward ran preternaturally fast to whence the disturbance had come, ready for when he was needed.

Shuddering in fear, she made her way over in a hurry to where the others were.
Jake, with Oy trotting along, hurried up from the shore, a gun drawn and two slung at his hips. His pockets were full of shells, and he was as ready as he'd ever be. Despite his darker thoughts earlier, he found himself seeking out Cameron, knowing she was here, somewhere.
"Sounds like showtime," Tristan said, grinning to Kat as he started out, tugging her along with him. He grinned, because this wasn't real yet ...
though when he stepped outside, it became slightly moreso. Because there was a giant black sea surging toward them. "Oh, holy shit," he swore as he drew his wand, blue eyes widening in fear.

Already outside, Johnny ignited the entirety of his body, having lucked out in discovering he'd managed to retain the flame friendly boxers he'd come with. He joined the cavalry, grinning.
Mal had found the group, and stood near the girl he recognized from their meeting, guns at the ready, eyeing up the monsters that headed towards him.
"Just once let it go smooth," he muttered, the scene before him somehow reminiscent of Serenity Valley, a sobering thought.
Edward lingered back from the wave of animalistic thoughts that thundered in his head. He could easily have just run out swinging, but if he survived, he'd have Bella to deal with. Strange how that seemed worse

Teeth bared and venom flowed, and he wondered if he should not be on the other side of the shield, the side with all the beating pulses, the side that smelled so good.
Topaz eyes lit on the boy yelling about the shield, and he thought he'd do more good on the far side. It wasn't as though they'd be able to hurt him. Not really. No worse than he'd been hurt before.
He wondered what Alice saw in this battle. ...
Charlie glanced to Johnny when he came out, but it was brief. A flick of eyes, no more. Her attention was on the dark mass swarming nearer, the blanket of darkness draping the land. She took a few steps back, but she felt Chase's shield against her back and knew she could go no further.
Jake made sure his guns were loaded, and he glanced grimly at the oncoming tide. He lifted his gun, ( ... )

Though what she saw didn't make her feel much better.
Still not completely in control of her visions, Alice reclaimed enough strength to sprint rapidly in the direction of where the heat of the battle would take place, trying to sort through the gruesome images of the upcoming attack to find something useful to draw on.

He didn't feel brave, energized or terrified. He barely felt anything at all, just worried ; he didn't like that. He should calm down, get his head on straight. Draco tried to look around for people, and saw a short haired girl sprinting in the same direction, and ran towards her.

Alice's dot would be right around... this corner!
Sirius skidded around the corner, already folding the map and stuffing it into a pocket of his robes as he pulled his wand free from his sleeve.
And almost came to an abrupt halt.
He stumbled, then continued to race toward Alice and the blond boy. "Bleeding hell," he swore.
Until now, this hadn't seemed quite as big a deal.

James sauntered toward the commotion, still not sure what was going on. Sure, it had been explained to him, but when 'it' sounded like a lot of rubbish, it tended to make one casual about things.
Then he spotted the figures racing for them, eyes widening.
He withdrew his wand.
