Day Eight - Reavers! (Outside)

Summary: Group effort. And by group effort, I mean, Mandy totally called it
The Reavers invade DauphinMare, as predicted, and the warning stones set off quite a racket. Most everyone involved in the fight races to the battlefield and starts firing. Chase puts up his shield with our fiery duo on the outside of it, and the Reavers are kind enough to wait until everyone is settled before they attack and start causing damage.
Our first casualty of DauphinMare occurs - Charlie McGee freezes up and is unable to call her flame. Being on the outside of the shield, she is torn up as the Reavers pull at her flesh. There are too many to fight off - Johnny and the others are unable to save her, and many are forced to witness this gruesome death. It is important to note that Jake yelled at Chase to lower his shield to save her, and Chase refused.
One of the Reavers had a gun, and fired three bullets - one of them hit Cameron, a wound that is easily repaired. One hit Draco, who quickly moved to stop the bleeding with a temporary healing spell. One hit Sirius, who fell over and kept shooting spells through the pain until the battle was over. No other serious casualties occurred outside.
Other important things to note include that Jasper was unable to handle himself under the onslaught of emotions, and pretty much gorged himself on Reavers. River Tam was summoned to DauphinMare mid battle, and was overcome with emotion before recognizing faces, racing around the shield set up by Chase, and attacking the Reavers already greatly decimated ranks. Towards the end of the battle, Alice - who'd been suffering from a headache - suddenly realized that by all accounts she shouldn't be able to see the Reavers because there were half-breeds involved in the fight, which meant there were Reavers inside the dorms with the interior crowd. Edward (and others?) raced off to check on those inside.
When the last of the Reavers had fallen, Ice declared victory. Many departed to the MedLab to be healed, others to their rooms to... *ahem* shower, and others hung around a bit longer before going their separate ways.
The first warning of the attack was a darkening of the sky, followed by the sound of the heavens tearing. A sound like thunder rolled from all around, seeming to have no immediate source. A wind sprang up, chill and forboding, washing across DauphinMare - toward the suddenly agitated ocean rather than away from it.
The horses sprang through first, hooves clattering against stone as they dashed down the mountain, heading toward the town proper, the town hall, the beach, the residences. Four horses, but easily five hundred reavers plunging out of the torn place.
Weapons were vast and varied, from clubs to throwing blades to short blades to long blades, to knives, to guns. The horses lead, the reavers followed, but death hung like a dark shadow over them all.
