Kai had kind of been sulking up until this point, ever since Chaos had hit. He was a little stung that they hadn't wanted him over there and more than a little ashamed about going over anyways. Maybe it had just been survival instinct; he liked to think that's what it was, anyways, even if that was just wishful thinking.

Either way, the thief had decided to come out of hiding, easing into the lounge to find a rather disgruntled Jaime. He gave a slight wave before plopping himself down in a chair to watch TV. Every so often his gaze would flit to her until he couldn't stand not asking anymore.

"Hey," he said softly, "You all right?"

Which, all things considered, was a very lame question to ask, but it was what he had so it was what she got.

"Not really," she said. "I had to leave early because one of their fucking wizards fucked with my head and I was useless." Her jaw clenched briefly, and she tried to remind herself it wasn't fair to take it out on him - it wasn't his fault that her mind was inferior or something.

"Sorry," she muttered. "Just...sorry. I ... I didn't want to go, in the first place, and then I do go, and I'm useless two steps into things. It just... it sucks, you know?"

He nodded.

"Yeah, I know," he replied, "Things haven't felt right for me since ... Chaos."

He could barely choke out the last word because that wasn't really what he'd intended to say. But Damion had bound him and it still stood; he couldn't talk about his brief trip to Riverfell, not that he really wanted. Shaking his head, he continued.

"But at least you tried, right?" he ventured, "That's gotta mean something."

He settled further into the chair, shifting so he could see her properly, pulling his hood up over his head so he was just looking at her and nothing else, blocking out the rest of the loune.

She scoffed slightly. "I haven't felt right since I got here." Which wasn't completely true. She felt perfectly right when she was with Mal. More right than she thought she'd felt most of her life. Like she actually belonged somewhere.

Musing to her thoughts, Jaime rolled her shoulders in a shrug before she glanced over to him. Had they ... actually met? She'd seen him around, sure, and she was pretty sure she knew his name, but really, how often had she been really social? "I'm Jaime," she said. "I'm not sure if we've met officially. Think I saw you in the cafeteria once or twice before though."
