Second Truth

I believed Mister Grady to be the Game Master's piece, but now it seems I was mistaken. This mystery runs deeper than I had expected.

...I sorely hope I'm not disappointed. By this mystery or by Mister Grady's actions.

Thank you for your concern, Mister Sakutaro. I am fine. I would never engage in such cowardly acts. Not if it is my will to choose.

Dlanor is okay! Very good to know, Uryu.

Was this a blind, senseless move on the part of all the players? They made a move with high risk but little in the way of rewards. I can't understand this line of reasoning at all.

I don't understand, either. Nor do I understand how they could make a connection between "going home" and "causing chaos." I doubt reasoning was involved at all.

And we're being lumped in with them like this is some sort of team game--one where we can't pick our own partners, at that!

Ah, knowing the stupid moves of these other people will affect my own progress irritates me so. I, Lambdadelta, do not make moves which do not benefit me! This is a handicap.

The rules have not been made entirely clear. Perhaps this is a team game.

Regardless, a handicap is ultimately not a problem. This mystery will still be solvable. I will not allow an impossible mystery to exist.

I think this would be called a forced move if I'm correct. This is was a risky and reckless play.

And in this case, the result was not worth the risk taken. I expected incompetence from some players, but I did not foresee such a foolish action.

Well, what are your plans for now? Things are bound to get worst from here.

I will only involve myself if Miss Erika wants me to. I saw no point in the other players' actions, and so I see no point to Mister Grady's retaliation. My plan for now is to simply observe.

Mister Grady appears to be a good choice of a piece to use as a distraction, though.

While Mister Grady may be good choice, he is also an obvious choice. This situation either means the Game Master is incompetent or that he is deliberately using the obvious choice for his plan.

...Either way, it is move I have come across many times. So if this move is a simple distraction, I will be disappointed.

It actual simplicity, or lack thereof, most likely depends on the nature of this particular game. It may be that misleading is of no concern to the gamemaster in question.

You are correct. But it is the Game Master who decides the nature of the game.

DLANOR!!! T-to the top of the stairs! Hands behind your back! Be waiting for me!!!!

[ having lost her detective's authority is upsetting. ]

...Of course.

[Dlanor hangs up, goes to Erika's house, and stands at the top of the stairs.]

[ Erika marches up the stairs and stands behind Dlanor. ]

They won't listen! They won't answer my questions, Dlanor!!!!

[ And shoves her down the stairs. Then calms down almost instantly, acting more refined and in control. ]

Again. Top of the stairs. Left foot. Hands clasped behind your back.

...As unpleasant as this sounds, if they won't answer your questions, it's possible you no longer have the detective's authority.

[After saying this, she climbs back up the stairs.]
