the nightmare at work continues...the main difference being that instead of the temp worker i had my boss filling in for that person who went on vacation. my boss was just as bad if not worse than the temp but it remains to be seen if this will help her to gain a newfound respect and insight into the sort of conditions that i work under daily.

I cringed every time patients insisted on their family members having a tray as well. this ain't no hometown buffet, homie! it is a sad deal when patients can't be more... patient? when it comes to these things. you're just doing you're job for sake!

you should say that to them the next time they try and pull one on you: "Can't you see this isn't Bottomless Tray Cafe, you cretin?"

oh how i wish i could say things like that but the subculture at this facility is that we have to coddle the patients as much as we can and if a patient were upset enough at me, there are mechanisms in place whereby the higher ups would find out about it and they always tend to side with the patients and i would never hear the end of it. but believe me, i want to tell them that we can't make things ready to order...
