Hey, whatever works. Something's better than nothing, I'd think.

Definately. I'm sure I can find some sort of metal that's strong enough to replace the shielding.

Probably won't be doing any orbital drops in it, though.

...orbital drops?

Yeah. Sometimes it's necessary for us to be dropped onto a prospective planet from orbit. If the landing areas are controlled by the enemies and there's no chance of getting a Pelican set down.

We have a group, the ODST, who are trained, but sometimes we SPARTANs are needed if they need a bit of extra firepower.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... So from way out in space?

[That's already a difficult concept to grasp for him, as he's only just been introduced to the idea of space travel. In ships, he can see, but in just armor? These guys must be really hardcore...or crazy.

...or both.]

Yep. The ODST are loaded into drop pods. So are we, usually, but the MJOLNIR armour is designed so it can withstand re-entry if necessary.

...It's not a sure bet, though.

...wow. That sounds really hard to believe. But then so was everything else I saw the moment I looked out the window when I woke up here.

I'm fine with keeping my feet on solid ground, thanks.

I would be, too, but I go where I'm ordered.

Guess I can understand that.

Yeah, orbital drops aren't my favourite.

I much prefer the sound of the ground under my boots.

I don't even know where the real ground on this planet is, but st least there's something to stand on. At least from the other places I've heard about, they aren't all like this.

I suppose I'll find out when I get my deployment.

Yeah, I guess we'll see how things go.
