[Some hours past the middle of the night, the datapad suddenly alights with sound-- clicking, hasty shuffling, and an abrupt BANG as if it were just dropped. The video feature switches on, focusing on a very detailed close up of the fabric of the apartment's cheap commercial carpet. Everything beyond is dark, lost in the blackness of night.]

You can't help, Wrex. She just-- she won't wake up. She's breathing but she's not conscious.

[He is getting rather tired of saying this, mostly because it highlights how fucking helpless he feels right now, but:] I don't know. Shepard is unresponsive, and we're trying to figure out why.

[He gets that, but... Being worried kinda trumps all needs for being careful of other people's feelings. At least until he knows she isn't dead.]

Shit. I mean, does he need anything? Maybe I can... I could pick stuff up?

[Yeah exactly. That's kinda the exact philosophy Garrus was acting on at first.]

No, we're good at the moment. There's not much anyone can do except wait. [Pause.] Lock up the ship though. I don't think we're going anywhere for awhile.

Mordin's here. He's looking at her. She looks like she's just sleeping, but we can't knock her out of it.

[Lily is about to ask what's going on, but she listens to the rest of the replies first]

Garrus, I...may know what's happening. She's unresponsive, yes? And she was fine before she went to sleep?

What? [He grabs for the datapad, focusing on Lily's reply.] Yes. What is it? Is it some sort of new plague?

No, it's not a plague. Or at least, not that I know of. But this has happened a few times before, I've been keeping track of it. Occasionally when people die, they come back...having experienced more of their particular timeline than they had before. Once or twice, though, this has happened without people dying. They fall asleep, stay asleep for the same length of time that people are gone once they're dead, and they come back from later.

If she's not awake in a week, it's likely something else. But if your doctor can't find anything else wrong with her, that's likely the cause.
