Women's curling, U.S. v. Norway. The U.S. got off to a good start, but they had a bad fifth end and Norway tied. It's looking like the U.S. will get at least one in the sixth end, so that's something. Mostly I'm loving the Minnesota accent of one of the announcers

Waaah! I don't have cable, so I can't watch the curling!

I wonder if any of the sports bars will show it?

[g] It's worth a shot. I think CNBC is showing curling from 4 - 7 every afternoon, central time. This is about the only time I'm glad we have cable.

ooh, who are the announcers? there's a guy from my club who's doing some commentary for NBC -- do you hear them calling each other by name?

also who's the norwegian team?

No, I haven't heard their names. I'll listen for it. It's the eighth end, so there's still a little time.

The Norwegian team: HOLTH Camilla, ROERVIK Marianne, HASLUM Marianne, NORDBY Dordi (S). They had a bad start, but they're kicking butt now. They're up by one in the eighth, and I think they're going to get a couple more, barring a miracle for the U.S.

yeah, that's a good team. they came third at the worlds last year when i was there in scotland -- that dordi nordby is practically legendary. :-)

Nordby looked great, and Norway completely out-threw the U.S. by the end. Cassie Johnson wasn't doing too well judging speed, from what I could tell.

Yeah, I'm in a real bind because the NBC affiliate here is showing curling nearly every morning, but I only get to see about half of any given match before having to go to work. When I left this morning, the US was kicking tail fairly respectably. =(

Isn't it torture? I had to leave to teach a class tonight when the U.S. v. Finland men's match was in the ninth end.
