I thought I might write the first chapter, but it turns out it's going to take awhile. So here - have a fic bit instead.

...and you tempt me to poke the Heretic about his pre-gate dates. I've gotten flashes now and then, but nothing *concrete*. It's a very different life from Theodric's, certainly.

Heee! Yes, very different, I'm certain. ^_^ Theodric's world makes my head hurt. And Theodric around age 19 causes more rounds of facepalming and snickering than he's probably going to be able to put up with for very long.

actually...over here, we didn't go 'omg will turner'. But a *lot* of muses turned to stare at Hugin and ask 'you're SURE you're not REALLY related?'

[DEAD!] Oh lord, that's even funnier. HEEE. and it only gets better. there's a large snit of "I'm right, you're wrong, okay DON'T listen to me, I'll go do it by myself anyways!" coming up, which was the point where I totally had the Will Turner moment.

I *know!* I swear, I totally didn't plan that at all. It just sort of came out that way, and halfway through I was all "...wait. I *know* what voice ought to be saying these lines."

...and now I have the Captains Sparrow and Barbossa arguing in my head who is the better/best captain and therefore gets the Black Pearl.
Actually only Barbossa is arguing, and not with Jack but with Marsyas (the guy in my icon), who claims to be completely impartial, since he only lets figures and statistics decide - and they say, Sparrow is the better Captain.

Jack is smirking. Barbossa is fuming. Marsyas is silently wishing for another job because he gets this discussion every bloody year.
