I have these two shelves with decorative brackets that I normally hang up together.  One three feet, one four feet, and the way I've hung them up the past couple of times I've lined up the brackets on one side so the things are a little off-center, comme ça --

Sure enough, the leasing office was disappointed but not surprised by the letter I got from Pepco yesterday.  Apparently this sort of thing happens often enough that they have a plan in place.  I'll have a phone call to make on Monday, but not a trip to the effing Pepco office.  We'll hope that works out.

Two shadowboxes and a frame hung up, and it's getting on for 10:00 so I think I should maybe stop banging.  They're not shared walls, but every whack of the hammer and I feel like I'm shaking the whole building.

At least two metric assloads of empty boxes taken out to the trash.  Stuff that can't go on shelves yet because I don't have those shelves yet sorted and stacked neatly in a corner.  Hooks driven into the wall for keys (by the door) and spatter screens (by the stove).  Pots on the pot rack.  All those effing boxes out of my living room.  I can ( Read more... )
