lol, i can't believe this is back in the news, we were saying things like that since before i was at school. i doubt more than 1% of kids go through with it, and the ones that do would probably be up to it anyway :)

Oh this one makes the news every couple of years. Its so silly! I remember when I was a kid it was a craze for a few years and then one day it was a Big Deal because the papers ran a story on it, and life continued as normal! Shock horror! Kids wore those bands and didn't have sex! Some kids not wearing the bands did have sex! Its amazing, that bit of free will and choice which comes into sex, rather than having it dictated by which fashion trends you follow.
Most kids know the urban legend quality of the "shag band" story. The real danger here is the newspapers reporting it as fact, and making kids feel that they "should" be having sex if they follow this trend.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this rant, so I'm going to stop now!
