Be careful about words: the science is sound and it makes sense and forms a reasonable and accepted working hypothesis, but it is NOT settled. The "proof" is from models that get answers similar to what we get - but not exactly, and there are other niggling issues that keep people from saying it is proved, for example, that we've gone through periods of global warming before for reasons that we do not understand
